After a week of horrible wet, cold weather, we decided to go out as a family today. We went to Sensations Science centre in Dundee and this time not just for the Starbucks! We decided to take advantage of the £2 entry offer and have a look round, already being aware that the little one was likely too young for most of the exhibits. In the end, there were 3 she really liked:
1. A circular platform like a trivial pursuit pie with coloured slices. Each wedge played a note when you stood on it and had a different colour. I stood in the middle and she ran round.
2. A touchscreen panel with questions for a wizard and witch who answered on a computer monitor.
3. A spinning tent
There was an event where they made ice cream out of liquid nitrogen. We tried to get her to watch but she was more interested in the little boy with the Sporticus trainers that had flashing lights on them. And then she wanted to play with the platform afterwards.
She wasn't even interested in trying the ice cream. In the interest of science I tried it. Not that impressed - I could only taste sugar granules to be honest!
We made a "DNA bracelet" out of colourful beads which I just about managed to stop her eating!
After about 30 minutes, we then went for a coffee (Starbucks). And she watched some kids building this impressive tower of bricks
She waited patiently. Eating her rice cakes and watching.
And then when they had finished, she ran over to push it over! I caught her just in time. Those chairs are pretty squishy and hard to get out of!
Anyway, all in all she seemed to really enjoy it and it was really interesting (for the few seconds I got a chance to look)
