WARNING: THIS IS MISERABLE. DON'T READ ON IF YOU DON'T WANT TO - I DON'T MIND
I have been tagged by Nickie at Typecast in the "Songs that make you cry" meme. So it's not my fault it's miserable! This is the selection of songs I played in my little boys funeral. I carefully chose each one for the words. We had a short ceremony in a Crematorium - nothing religious because neither of us are believers and and were even less so at this point in time!
Like a Star – Corrinne Bailey Rae
This one we had playing as we all arrived. The words are really poignant. Ironically, the first word the little one really got to grips with was "Star"
For the next 2 you have to listen to the words. They are amazing. Such a shame though, I can't listen to them any more when they come on the radio. It tears me apart.
I Miss You – Blink182
Fix You – Coldplay
And for this one, this song was out at the time Adam was born. He was so active in his incubator that we used to sing this along to him. We had this playing as we left the Crematorium.
I don't feel like Dancin - The Scissor Sisters
