Have you noticed how when you have a child and become a mother, you suddenly gain magical powers?
It doesn't happen with a rush of euphoria or a rainbow of sparkly stars. In fact, it is entirely feasible that you could totally miss the fact that you are now magical. But trust me, you have magic. It's not just mothers either, it applies to both parents.
How did I find out about this magic?
It first happened when the little one stubbed her toe. She cried. I offered to kiss it better. She brought the toe over to me. I gave it one gentle kiss and suddenly there were no more tears. It was fixed. I repeated again and again on different parts of the body (I draw the line at the bottom by the way - just too risky!) and every time it had the same effect - the tears stopped. Now if that isn't magic I don't know what is?
