Life has settled into a strange and steady sort of routine these days.
6:45am Around this time the little one gets up. Despite having a groclock, an analogue clock and a digital clock in her room, and being perfectly able to tell the time as long as it’s on the hour, she still fails to make it to 7am!
6:50am Little one heads for the toilet (she now has no nappy overnight) and then through to me.
7:10am I get dressed in my running gear and fetch clothes from the little one’s room while she heads downstairs
7:15am Hubby gets up
7:20am I head for a run while the hubby sorts the little one’s breakfast and tries to cajole her into getting dressed
7:45am I cool off, log on and download my stats and then head for a shower and listen to my Thinking Slimmer slimpod
8:10am I get a coffee, an orange juice and some toast (maybe) and then get the little one’s hair in a ponytail and continue cajoling her into getting dressed.
8:45am hubby takes little one to school
11:20am hubby set off to pick up little one from school
12:00pm I break for lunch and do us all lunch if work calls aren’t getting in the way
5:00pm I finish work and take over looking after the little one
6:00pm The little one has dinner and I have something with her so that she’s not eating alone.
6:45pm I cajole her into her PJ’s and play her story and bedtime song from CBeebies.
6:55pm I take her up to bed after cuddles with the hubby. She goes to the loo and brushes her teeth
7:00pm She snuggles into my arm in bed while I read her book and the lullaby songs play out of her iPod in the background
7:10pm Hush little baby comes onto the song mix and I sing along while she snuggles down
7:15pm I sing it again for her if she asks
7:20pm She’s usually asleep and I come back downstairs and make plans for dinner while I drink the cup of tea the hubby has made for me.
And that’s my day. Pretty consistently. Obviously it changes if I travel, and with my course starting in October I will be away for 3 bedtimes one weekend a month so the hubby needs to find a bedtime routine that works for him and the little one. Right now, if he does this routine it can be at least 8:30pm before she settles to sleep.
