This morning I had to drop my car off for a service at 8am. I could have waited for them to give me a lift home but after looking at Google Maps I had the crazy idea to run home.
It was 7.3 miles.
I figured I could run home and the hubby could come and get me after dropping the little one at school. This would give me between an hour and 10 minutes and an hour and 15 minutes to get as close to home as possible.
I managed 5.19 miles which I’m pretty happy with.
This route involved crossing a major dual carriageway with no proper crossing point and I had to stop at a number of junctions as you can see from the timing chart.
You can also see that steep hills I had to go up from mile 4. Unsurprisingly I walked most of it!
But this is the longest run I’ve done in my Vibrams and I think the furthest I’ve run since the marathon. I was very happy with it and lucky to have a lovely sunny and slightly breezy day – perfect running conditions.
This is where I set off from. That’s the river Tay and on the left is Fife
As you can see it was a lovely morning. Amazingly it is now totally overcast and threatening to rain!
This is the hill. Goes all the way up to the tree line at the top – and beyond!
It was half way up this hill that the hubby met me and picked me up.
All in all very happy that I chose to do this today.
