You may have seen on this blog before I have done a review of canvas prints. I am a big fan of canvas prints.
In this day and age, the quality of cameras on phones means that it is more likely that we will be able to capture that special moment. But having it stuck on the phone isn’t much use and sticking it on Facebook doesn’t show it off very well!
The company I previously used let me down on an order recently and I had decided to be very wary of using them again in the future.
So when I was contacted by Hello Canvas with an offer of challenging them to do a canvas from one of my photos I decided to go for it (You know I don’t really like doing reviews on my blog) because I wanted to see if there was an alternative out there. They figure that they stand out on the quality of what they produce so I thought it would be a very interesting experiment because canvases can be a little poor on quality.
I sent them this photo
This is the little one riding the dragon in Dundee. It’s a lovely photo that I really fancied having on a canvas.
I sent the photo along with instructions to crop to the dragon.
A few days later the canvas arrived.
I have included the pen for scale.
I think it is a really good quality reproduction of a photo taken on a phone. The little one keeps on kissing it so I need to get it hung up as soon as possible! We have agreed to put it in her bedroom.
Now the only downside of this process is that I did the whole thing via email with Hello Canvas so I don’t know how the process works on their website but having looked it up, the prices look very reasonable, and the quality is certainly spot on. Certainly the low prices have no effect on the quality of the end product.
The canvas arrived very quickly too.
I think, based on this experience, I would probably go to their site first next time I need a canvas.
*I was contacted by Hello Canvas to review their product and was given the canvas for no cost. All opinions expressed in this post are my own and are uninfluenced by being given the product for free – if it was pants I would have told you, trust me!
