I guess every school has one. A school bully
When I was at school it was a girl called Lisa.
She was a large girl with curly red hair. She had a gang of course. I think it goes with the territory.
She actually lived in the same village as me and travelled on the same bus as me to and from school. That was where I became aware of her bullying tendencies.
There was a bloke on the bus who was of similar age to her – about 15 at this stage. He wasn’t a weedy or a shy lad and he was reasonably good looking. She used to stand over him and twist his ears. I remember her doing this one day until he cried. But he was obviously a very decent lad because he never retaliated.
I was never bullied at school although it always amazed me. I was so shy and introverted. But I had a very well defined “F**k off shield” that put people off even starting something with me.
One day we I was in a separate building where my computer studies classes took place. It must have been a break because there weren’t many people around.
Lisa was at the top of a couple of flights of stairs outside of the computer room. I was at the bottom.
We had an exchange of words. I can’t remember what it was about but it was not a nice friendly chat! I’m sure at some point she did the whole “come up here and say that” routine. I replied with something that must have been spot on (I wish I could remember what I said!) because the altercation ended with me just walking away and she never bothered me again.
Looking back I think more of her than of anyone else. How horrible must her life have been that it drove that behaviour? And I hope the guy came out of it okay although I suspect he probably didn’t.
