Every Sunday morning the hubby has a lie in (every Saturday I have mine). You know what it’s like with small children – being quiet isn’t something they do very well.
So I started taking the little one to McDonald’s for breakfast every Sunday morning to leave the house nice and quiet for the hubby’s lie in.
It’s now become a tradition I look forward to. Hanging out with the little one together.
We always bring a friend
And there are things to play with
And of course there it the brekkie!
The thing I like about McDonald’s is that their food is clearly labelled. As she needs a wheat free diet she can’t eat the bread. But their burgers and breakfast items such as egg, sausage patty and bacon don’t have anything added – so as long as we remove the bread they are ok. We used to get a sausage and egg McMuffin for her brekkie but then they brought out the breakfast wrap. This is perfect because it is all the brekkie items in a wrap.
I just open it out and tip it up. No risk of the bread sticking or anything.
The only problem I have is that I used to join her in having a brekkie, but since I’ve been on Thinking Slimmer I just don’t want it. I can just about manage porridge. But for the last 4 weeks they have not been able to do me porridge for brekkie (microwave broken, out of stock, not microwaving properly!). So I end up with a latte and nothing else for brekkie.
We usually spend at least an hour there, having brekkie, chatting and when we’ve finished eating we get the crayons and colouring in sheets and have a play.
Sometimes we go on somewhere afterwards and sometimes we go home to get on with our day.
This was all put together for this weeks gallery over at sticky fingers where the subject is "Breakfast"
