For my birthday I got a Nike GPS watch.
I had asked for this because I synch up my runs with Nike+ but used to do it off my iPod which is pedometer based and not very accurate – especially when you run barefoot style which has a shorter pace!
In comparison to Garmin reports
Nike+ is great because not only does it give you nice visual way of tracking your activity, but it also lets you know when you’ve met certain goals (even if you don’t set any!)
And it lets you see how you are doing in comparison to others who also use Nike+
So I really love Nike+. If you use it on an iPhone you can also synch it with Facebook so people can send messages to you as you run! (I don’t use an iPhone)
So I got the Nike GPS watch so that I could track my runs accurately and get the lovely reporting. So how do they compare?
Overall it’s an interesting one. I prefer the Nike GPS watch but only by a smidgen and mainly because I like the software. The Garmin is better watch for serious runners. It it far better during the run than the Nike.
For me, I only run for fun so I am happy enough with the Nike but if you run in competition or even in competition with yourself, I would recommend the Garmin series of watches for you.
