It started on Monday.
I caught a flight to London for a meeting and when I landed there was a message from the hubby telling me the little one had been barfing all morning.
So I sat in my meeting all day worrying, knowing that the flight back wasn’t going to get me home until 10pm.
The hubby coped brilliantly as usual. The little one is great when she’s sick. Because we had so much travel sickness with her wheat intolerance, she is now a pro with a bucket!
Anyway I got home and the school said she had to be off for 48 hours which meant she missed her nativity/carol concert on the Tuesday.
She wasn’t sick on Tuesday but she did have a temperature and had a morning and afternoon nap.
On Wednesday she still had a temperature and she was sick in the morning. She missed her school Christmas party on Wednesday afternoon.
Yesterday she still wasn’t well and we phoned the school to let them know she’d not be back now until the new year.
She has taken the chance to catch up on her sleep and what’s really interesting is she’s been getting up later in the morning because of it. This morning it was nearly 8am before she got up – meaning I got the luxury of a lie in!
Overall though she’s been pretty happy in between being ill. It sounds a lot worse than it actually is.
We’re all looking forward to Xmas now. She’s been counting down the sleeps for 2 weeks! Unfortunately I’m working over the Xmas run but it should be pretty quiet so not too taxing!
