On Friday night the little one was sent to bed with instructions that if she had a good night we could go bowling on Saturday.
You see, Saturday is my lie in day so normally it would all be good but it appears they have shut Dundee Megabowl so the next best one for us to go to is in Aberdeen – an hour and a half away.
This meant a disturbed nights sleep would equal no bowling.
She interpreted slightly differently. She decided to get up as late as possible – even playing in her room for a while first. Obviously the hubby was thrilled when she quietly knocked on our bedroom door (she never does that!) at 7:45am.
Just for contrast – this morning she was up at 6am – when it is the hubby’s turn for a lie in!
Anyway, whatever, she was very good so I enjoyed my sleep and when I got up we headed to Aberdeen armed with a bag of giant Cadbury chocolate buttons. When I opened them the smell was divine – I asked her to smell too and she agreed. From that point on, every time she had one she sniffed it and giggled! oops
Before we left she showed me this picture she had drawn freehand of Shaggy and Scooby Doo. I think it’s really good.
On the way up to Aberdeen we arranged to meet with friends who live up there who have 2 girls of 7 and 10 ish. The little one was thrilled but we would have a couple of hours before we met for bowling.
It was a lovely day so we headed straight for the beach.
Then we went and grabbed some lunch in TGI Fridays
They have a brilliant GF menu and even have an adult and kids one. I ordered her GF hot dog which was a hot dog with beans instead of the bread
It’s a very family restaurant and she had a great colouring in thing and a balloon
Then we headed to Codona’s which is an amusement arcade with everything you could wish for. Shame it’s so far away because it would be a great place to hang out.
We met the friends and we had a great time bowling – apart from the time the little one came up to me in mid-bowl and got whacked in the face cos I didn’t know she was there! Luckily without the Bowling Ball in hand!
After bowling we went on to Starbucks in town with our friends and we passed a Build-a-Bear workshop on the way there
The little one had been so good I just had to take the opportunity to take her in.
We got a little ‘voice’ for it which is a recording of me saying “I love you” which I think is quite nice – especially when I am away.
The little one is thrilled with ‘Molly’ the bear.
All in all we had a truly amazing day.

Saturday was all about that
