Wow it’s been a long time since I took part in the Gallery hasn’t it?
Well this week’s them is “Bond” – as in the bond between people.
This picture is a perfect picture of bond in our family.
The hubby, the little one and Spud the cat, all together and reading
And look at which book they are reading!
The hubby and the little one have a special bond. He is a stay at home dad to her and they adore each other. He often feels bad for the physical things he can’t do with her but he does so much that is worth way more than the physical – after all I do all the running around, swimming, jumping, sledging. You don’t want both parents doing the same things. It’s about balance.
He teaches her to read. He makes up stories with her. They play keyboard and guitar and make up words to songs.
When she’s having an awkward moment it’s always him who can calmly talk her round. He can always find a way to make her smile when her and I are locking horns.
And Spud adores her. Ever since he was a kitten he has taken abuse from her. She was not of an age to understand that he was a cat and not a toy and at one point we thought we might need to get rid of him for his own sake. But they have settled into a partnership. He is tolerant and loving. He follows her around and sleeps in her room when he gets a chance. When I take her to bed, he often comes along to say goodnight.
This was all put together for this weeks gallery over at sticky fingers where the subject is "Bond"
